A short brief of his style

RUBIÓ I TUDURÍ’S STYLE

It is interesting to divide Tudurí’s production in two phases in order to analyze its style.

1º phase (1917-1937):
We can find an initial landscape style followed by Italian and neo-arabian gardens. The influences of French garden (Forestier), the functionalism (Le Corbusier) and American architecture (Lloyd Wright) are quite notable. Its gardens are conformed by the idea of the “mediterranismo” and there is an evolution from the “noucentisme” to rationalism (Mies Van der Rohe).

2º phase (1945-1981):
This is a phase clearly defined by the landscape gardens, very influenced by the English garden: Tudurí takes the English garden and uses it to create the Mediterranean landscape garden. He abandons Forestier’s eclecticism and his view of nature changes from an idea of design and control to an idea of respect and adaptation. Nature becomes a supreme value. He see in the garden not a space for ostentation but of peace.
